1 40 privileged senior citizens are in for a makeover treat this Monday 7 July 2008, when they are showered with a day of ultimate indulgence. They will undergo a haircut, shampoo, scalp care and facial session, transforming them into stylish individuals – all in the name of celebrating nEbO’s 1st anniversary.
2 Spearheaded by NTUC Club’s youth group, nEbO, this project is part of their outreach efforts to inspire and encourage youths in the involvement with the elderly so as to provide the latter with a better quality of life while at the same time harness their relationship with them.
3 Senior citizens hardly pamper themselves with extra perks which they deem extravagant. nEbO youths hope that by organizing this session, senior citizens will be able to enjoy being pampered without having to splurge on expensive spa sessions.
4 This project held in conjunction with nEbO’s 1st anniversary aims to include the elders in the birthday celebration as they have fun with the youths.
5 Since nEbO started on 070707, it has been partnering youth volunteers from ITE College East, School of Business & Services – Beauty Therapy to provide complimentary facial sessions to elders from NTUC Eldercare. The response has been overwhelming prompting for repeated sessions.
6 This round, nEbO is adding icing to the cake by including haircut, shampoo and scalp care sessions to make it an even sweeter experience for the participants. The haircut, shampoo and scalp care sessions are provided by students from ITE’s newly established Hair Fashion & Design Department. Youth volunteers will also take this time to mingle and interact with the participants and help spread some cheer on this memorable day.
7 Lunch will also be provided for all participants and they will be able to dine with Guest-of-Honour, Mrs Josephine Teo, MP for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC.

nEbO shapes youth landscape in Singapore
Launched on 070707, nEbO aims to be the choice membership club for youths 12 to 21 years old in Singapore. An initiative by NTUC Club, nEbO was set up to engage the youths to help develop and realise their potentials in their areas of interests in entertainment, sports, arts and culture, entrepreneurship, etc.
nEbO is a club for the young, by the young. A network of the respective communities led by alpha youths are formed to nurture and groom talents. Under the guidance of the community heads, members will get the chance to carry out their dream projects such as setting up a business or organising a marathon with infrastructural support from NTUC Club.
