NTUC Club, the leisure and entertainment unit of NTUC, was established in 1986 to provide affordable resort style amenities to Singapore's workforce. Its amenities grew from a clubhouse at Shenton in 1986 to a resort at Pasir Ris in 1988. In 2000, it opened Downtown East, an integrated leisure and entertainment complex at Pasir Ris. NTUC Club, through its subsidiaries, manages three resorts(Costa Sands Resort-Downtown East , Sentosa and Pasir Ris), two themeparks(Wild Wild Wet and Escape) and five clubhouses (DXO, Happy Days, Jest D'Place, Union Square and Scarlet City).
NTUC Family Reveals Employee Age Profile to Encourage More Companies to Adopt Age-Friendly Employment Practices
The labour movement is all for age-friendly employment practices that help to enhance the employability and re-employment of all workers, including older workers and women who form a significant potential source of labour supply. To show its commitment towards age-friendly employment practices, the NTUC family has taken the lead in disclosing its employee age profile on its main website - NTUC Online.
Please refer to www.ntuc.org.sg/ageprofile for the age disclosure chart and more information.
NTUC Club is also an active corporate citizen. It believes that it has a social responsibility towards its staff, the community and the environment in which its businesses are based. In 2005, it set aside a Family Recreational Fund worth S$3 million to enable needy union members and their families to enjoy complimentary visits to its attractions and amenities. NTUC Club was one of the six companies to be awarded MediaCorp Radio's inaugural LifeLong Learner Award 2005 (Corporate Category) for its bond-free studies sponsorships to its staff.
