Singapore, 6 August 2018 – Come 29 August 2018, Downtown East will be home to Tayo Station, the first Tayo character-based indoor playground in Southeast Asia for families to create their own adventures with Tayo the Little Bus and his friends. This marks the opening of the first Tayo Station in Southeast Asia and outside of South Korea. As part of Downtown East’s continued efforts to refresh its offerings, the playground serves to engage families with young children through fun.
Tayo Station is themed around the South Korean animated series that follows Tayo and his little bus friends who often discover new sights and go on exciting adventures every day in the big city.
Located in Downtown East’s E!Hub, Tayo Station spans a massive 10,000-square-feet-space that integrates indoor playground attractions, edutainment area and sensory play space for young children from 1 to 12 years old. These include the Tayo’s Road Circuit, Poco’s Hinoki Play, and Gani’s Playground, created to entertain while offering a healthy level of challenge for the kids to overcome.
The colourful vehicles and the roads – iconic to the animation series, are replicated through the Tayo’s Road Circuit, a creative child-sized street scene filled with fun spaces like the Garage, Wash n’ Go and Pump Kiosk for the little ones to zip around and pretend play. They will also get to learn various road signs and be taught basic road safety rules, enabling them to better understand real-world scenarios in a fun and engaging environment.
Poco’s Hinoki Play presents a sensorial experience for the younglings to emulate sand play using freshly-imported Hinoki wood cubes from South Korea. These aromatic and clean cubes, besides widely known for their health and skin benefits, provide an uplifting mood with their scents for the kids to excavate, dig and play to their heart’s content.
The ultimate challenge for kids yearning for a thrilling adventure, Gani’s Playground offers a fully equipped 3-storey play system with two long slides and plenty of physical obstacles. Gani’s Playground pits kids’ motor and agility skills against the challenges for a stimulating fun-filled day.
Also featured in Tayo Station are two Party Rooms – Tayo-designed rooms that can host character-themed parties. These room can also be tailored to suit the needs of families planning a special occasion for their young ones. Families organising a mega party can have the option of combining the two rooms into a larger event space, allowing them to throw a big party for occasions such as momentous birthday milestones.
“Downtown East continues to bring fun to our members and their families with the addition of Tayo Station. The playground, together with fun programming through our eXplorerkid community will create more bonding opportunities for our guests. We welcome them to embark on their fun adventures here.”

“We are excited and pleased to launch Tayo Station, following a very well-received Pororo Park Singapore. It was a natural decision to bring Tayo Station into the newly refreshed Downtown East. They offer the right space and infrastructure for us to deliver the first Tayo character-based indoor playground in Southeast Asia. With this new addition to our portfolio, our customers can now enjoy greater value through our membership programmes!”
